SUMMARY:A Walk in Her Steps: Purple Light Nights® Renton 1K Solidarity Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join us on October 6 and look for the purple lights and Silent Witnesses (Survivor Silhouettes) in Renton this October to remember your neighbors facing domestic violence.\n\n\n\nOctober is Domestic Violence (DV) Awareness Month\, and South King County neighbors are gathering at a variety of Purple Light Nights events in support of survivors\, to give a voice to victims\, and in solidarity to create awareness and change for more peaceful communities. QR codes on\n\n the silhouettes lead to true stories from the journeys of real DV survivors (names changed to protect anonymity). \n\nConcerned community members can help by making a gift\, hosting a fundraiser or social media challenge to benefit DAWN\, and by following "In Her Shoes\," an online interactive story of Sierra\, a DV survivor\, which will be released in episodes from September 25 throughout the month of October via DAWN's website\, www.dawnrising.org.\n\n\n\nA Walk in Her Steps: Purple Light Nights Renton 1K Solidarity Walk\, presented by Renton Chamber of Commerce\, Renton Downtown Partnership\, City of Renton\, and DAWN\, and sponsored by Comcast\, The Seattle Seahawks\, Puget Sound Energy\, XFinity and Lockton Companies\, starts at the Clock Tower downtown at 3rd & Burnett\, and finishes at City Hall at 6:30.
