SUMMARY:Antonio's Alex's Lemonade Stand
DESCRIPTION:We will be hosting our 4th Antonio's Alex's lemonade stand on Sunday June 12\, 2011.\n\n\n\nWe will be handing out lemonade for donations. Clowns\, face painting. An apearance from the renton fire department\, plus more. We will also have a blood drive for those who would like to donate blood. This is a fun event for all ages. \n\n\n\nAll money raised will go to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation\, a non-profit organization that raises money for Childhood Cancer Research.\n\n\n\nAlexandra (Alex) Scott\, founder of Alex?s Lemonade Stand Foundation was just four years old when she came up with the idea to raise money for childhood cancer research by holding a lemonade stand. Having been diagnosed an aggressive form of cancer\, Neuroblastoma\, shortly before her first birthday\, Alex set up her first Alex?s Lemonade Stand in her front yard to help her doctors raise money for research. For 7 years\, Alex underwent round after round of experimental treatments in the hopes to one day know cure. Sadly\, Alex Scott died at the age of 8 1/2\, having left behind a legacy ? Alex?s Lemonade Stand Foundation.\n\n\n\nThis event is in honor of Antonio Gonzales-Pebworth from Renton\, who in 2004 at the age of two\, was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma\, the same cancer that took little Alex Scott. The treatment he went through was extremely intensive and left him with health problems and disabilities he will have to live with for the rest of his life. Thankfully\, he is currently NED (no evidence of disease). But if he relapses\, which is very common with this type of cancer\, his chances of surviving are very slim.
