His career began in the arts\, where he realized early on the importance of understanding finances to pursue passion projects. That led him to a career to span the industries of advertising\, startups\, photography\, and finance. He began in NYC with the dotcoms of the late '90s to become a creative director and digital strategist. He founded the digital department\, was instrumental as one of the new business leads\, and grew the department to be the largest digital department in Havas Health.\n\nDuring his time in NYC\, Roy has consulted private equity\, ran a photography business\, and was president of a global photography trade organization. Roy left NYC 5 years ago to pursue other interests and is now a personal financial advisor\, angel investor\, and mentor to entrepreneurs. Roy has spoken around the city at groups like the MIT Forum\, Freelancers Union\, Lean Startup\, and more. He likes to give back by guest lectures at various local universities and is an active volunteer within the diversity and inclusion world.
