SUMMARY:RANU - Renton Area Nonprofits Unite
DESCRIPTION:RANU (Renton Area Nonprofits Unite) is for any nonprofit in or benefiting the greater Renton area. An opportunity for like-minded organizations to network and connect and build bridges.\n\nEach meeting has a subject matter presentation designed to uplift those working in the nonprofit world.\n\n\nIf you are going through RANU withdrawal like me\, you can't wait for our next meeting. \n\nWe don't meet in August\, but we will get back together for a great presentation on September 25! \n\n \n\nTopic: Nonprofit Conflict New Insights into Causes and Solutions\n\nDoes your organization suffer from infighting\, a lack of focus\, or ineffective leadership? You share the same vision and values - so why does conflict compromise your ability to reach your goals?\n\n \n\nSome conflict is inevitable in any organization- and it's not always negative. Healthy conflict can invite open dialogue\, diverse perspectives and new solutions. But non-profits tend to attract people with similar behavioral styles. Such an imbalance\, if unexamined\, can lead to unhealthy conflict\, underperforming teams\, and an inability to fully realize an organization's mission and operational effectiveness. \n\n \n\nThis workshop will help you to understand the causes of conflict and provide tools to improve interpersonal and working relationships and shift from unhealthy to healthy conflict. \n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n\nRON HIGGS is an executive coach who helps executive teams and boards work better together in achieving their organizational goals. He is a Navy veteran with decades of experience in engineering\, operations\, and program management. Ron also has years of experience serving on non-profit boards\, which gives him a unique perspective into the challenges facing nonprofit leaders and directors. \n\n \n\n \n\n\n\n \n\nLEE MOZENA is a diversity trainer\, facilitator\, and strategic communication consultant who helps leaders and managers succeed in multicultural USA. Her skill set includes emotional\, cultural\, leadership intelligence and conflict mediation. Lee's work around community engagement between municipalities and underrepresented cultural groups in Washington State has garnered national recognition. \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nThanks!\n\n \n\n\n\nJohn Grossman\n\nDirector of Development and Community Giving | Valley Cities Behavioral Health Care\n\nPhysical Address: 33405 8th Ave S.\, Suite 200\, Federal Way WA 98003\n\nMailing Address: 325 W Gowe Street\, Kent WA 98032\n\nC: 206-532-3348 | F: 253-661-8631 | jdonahue-grossman@valleycities.org
