To date\, the Nature Preserve has saved nearly 100 acres of land\, by placing them under permanent protection. This land incorporates seven different habitats\, including a 5\,000 year old peat bog. SHADOW's community engagement\, education programs\, and volunteer events welcome nearly 3\,000 local residents each year\; including 1\,500 students. We at the Nature Preserve believe conservation is a community-wide effort. The generous support of our community and volunteers make SHADOW's mission possible. To express our gratitude\, SHADOW is throwing a party! SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve will host the 20th Annual Frog Frolic\, on September 10th from 1:00 5:00 PM. The event will feature live music from the Forgotten 45's\, a Wicked Pies food truck\, children's activities\, guided naturalist tours\, and a silent auction.
