COLD HANDS, WARM HEART
WARM CLOTHING DRIVE TO SUPPORT RENTON AREA FAMILIES
The 18th Annual RAYS Holiday Festival, put on by Renton Area Youth and Family Services, will take place on Saturday, December 10th at Renton High School. We provide a hot meal and carnival atmosphere - complete with Santa! - for over 300 children and their families who are surviving both life in poverty, and the impact of illness or traumatic experiences.
This event is a small bright spot in what can be a difficult season for families touched by loss, or financially unable to fulfill their children's wishes. We aim to send all of our guests home with a new item of warm clothing to free them from at least one worry in the cold, wet Northwest winter. They get to "shop" for this item in our pop-up store, and we hope to have it stocked with a great selection in all sizes.
We all remember what it was like to go to school with a fresh, new look, or with the latest brand-name item. Every child deserves to have that confidence, and you can help us make that happen with a donation of new, warm clothing to RAYS!
As a thank you, we will feature your business or brand in our program, and display a promotional sign or logo at the entry to the event. This will be visible not only to guests, but to the 100+ volunteers who help us make this event happen.
Please consider organizing your coworkers, family & friends or place of worship in collecting:
coats, jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, hats, mittens & gloves.
All shapes, sizes and styles are needed and everything must be new or unused. Cash or gift cards to purchase these items are also welcome, and we will do the shopping for you! You can drop off items at both of our buildings, located at: 1025 South 3rd St Renton, WA 98057 and 12704 76th Ave S Seattle, WA 98178.
