Description

Renton Chamber Business Development Breakfast: Navigating Washington's "Millionaires Tax" & Initiative 645
Join the Renton Chamber of Commerce for our upcoming Business Development Breakfast for a critical, timely discussion on the future of Washington's tax policy and its direct impact on local employers. With the upcoming November 3, 2026, general election approaching, voters will decide the fate of Initiative 645, a high-stakes ballot measure aiming to repeal the state’s newly passed 9.9% income tax on household earnings over $1 million.
To help our business community navigate what is at stake, this month's featured discussion will be led by representatives from the Association of Washington Business (AWB).
While often framed as a tax impacting only high earners, the law carries significant implications for local employers and job creators. Many Washington businesses are structured as pass-through entities, meaning business income is reported on individual returns. AWB representatives will break down the policy mechanics, address how profits retained for payroll, inventory, and equipment could be impacted, and provide insights from the employer perspective.
Don't miss this opportunity to stay informed on the shifting legislative landscape before you cast your vote this November.
