Slavery in America is thought to have been limited to the South and Northeast. However, Washington State has it’s own story of slavery. Eva M. Abram will share the story of a young boy named Charles Mitchell – how he came to the Northwest and how events almost lead to a possible international incident with Canada. Follow along with this story of local history and intrigue as a rarely told story of Washington history unfolds. Audience: 9 years through adult.
