Maria Gitana, flamenco performer and Hispanic culture educator, and her group Flamenco Gitana, will entertain and present flamenco dance in historical, geographical and cultural context. Over the years the flamenco music and dance of Southern Spain was adapted by Middle and Latin American, Indian, and African cultures. One of the ways people of different cultures connect with each other is through the music and dance. All are welcome to come share Maria’s love of flamenco! Audience: children through adult.
