: A community celebration and dedication ceremony to unveil the newly refurbished Jamal Crawford Court at Liberty Park on Saturday, September 24, 2011. Crawford will be presented with a “key” to the city and will receive a proclamation by Mayor Denis Law.
National Basketball Association (NBA) Star Jamal Crawford, who was an All-American star at Rainier Beach High School, earned the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award in 2010, and lived for much of his early childhood and youth in Renton. As a youth, Jamal Crawford spent countless days and evenings at Liberty Park working on his basketball skills and game. The Jamal Crawford Foundation has funded significant improvements to the Liberty Park basketball courts, including resurfacing, new back boards, goals and bleachers.
Community members will enjoy great local food from Jimmy Mac’s BBQ, hosted by the Jamal Crawford Foundation.
