REI Flagship Hosts 85th Anniversary Party

REI Co-op will host an 85th anniversary celebration on Saturday, July 22 with its members, partners, employees and the larger community at the Seattle flagship. Immersive displays and experiences will lead guests through REI and Seattle’s shared history from 1938 to today…and beyond. The co-op is excited to invite partner organizations like Seattle Mountain Rescue, who will stage a simulated mountain rescue on REI’s indoor climbing wall. The event is free and open to all ages. No admission is required. Activities include: -Immersive storytelling exhibits and educational booths from teams across the co-op. -A behind-the-scenes look at REI’s history, from community building to gear innovation. -An interactive board featuring Mountain to Sound Greenway's favorite outdoor spaces. -Simulated rescues on REI's indoor climbing wall from Seattle Mountain Rescue. -A silent auction for a signed photograph of Jim Whittaker summitting Mt. Everest. -A KEXP DJ will be spinning. -Complimentary birthday-themed food will be provided by REI.
