Pal Tiya is a new NON-FIRING sculpting material developed for artists by artists. It was designed to overcome the costs and difficulties of making permanent work that can go outdoors.
Kim Beaton is a sculptor of 20 years experience and a spfx veteran of the Hobbit films. She has worked with nearly every sculpting material on the planet including bronze, wood, ceramic, fiberglass, resin, and concrete and taught in most of them. Kim's largest sculpture was nearly three stories tall and she particularly enjoys bringing communities together to create large public works. A passionate teacher, her desire is to make sculpture more accessible and affordable to all artists.
Kim will also be doing live informal chats with the public while working on a large sculptural commission in downtown Renton. Stop by at 724 South 3rd Street and see the artist in action. Bring her donuts and you may get the chance to experience the process first hand.
Want to talk shop? Kim is also seeking advice/feedback from artists with some prior teaching experience. Please stop by and share your thoughts.
