Description
Join the Renton Police Department and help prevent identity theft and prescription (Rx) drug abuse by bringing your sensitive personal documents to be shredded and unused/ expired prescription drugs for safe disposal.
- All participants must remain in their vehicles at all times.
- All documents/prescription drugs should be placed in your trunk, hatchback, or truck bed before arriving at the event.
Shredding Details:
- Documents are limited to household papers and will be shredded on-site.
- Bring up to 5 boxes. Boxes should be 12 to 15 inches deep and 10 inches high or equivalent in a bag.
**Items NOT Approved for shredding**
- Plastic items such as credit cards, notebooks, and compact disks CANNOT be accepted.
- Documents should be free of paper clips and other metal (staples do not need to be removed.
Prescription Drug Take Back Details:
**We WILL collect**
- Prescription and over-the-counter medications in pill or liquid form.
- Solid dosage or capsules may be removed from the container and placed in a bag or brought in their original container.
- If the original container is submitted, remove any identifying information by removing the label or use a permanent marker to block out personal information.
**We WILL NOT collect**
- Intravenous solutions, injectables, needles, inhalers, syringes, chemotherapy medications, vaping devices that have batteries that cannot be removed, or medical waste.
Canned food, dry goods or monetary gifts will be accepted to benefit the Renton Salvation Army Food Bank.
