Together with our millions of supporters, the American Cancer Society (ACS) saves lives by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back.
The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the ACS has regional and local offices throughout the country that support 11 geographical Divisions and ensure we have a presence in every community.
Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in the Renton community.
Join us at these events to bring communities together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society make a global impact on cancer.
The Relay For Life of Renton takes place in June each year at Renton Memorial Stadium. Teams of family members, coworkers, friends, social organizations, and businesses set up a site on the track and take turns walking throughout the event. We begin the event each year by celebrating our survivors and honoring them with a dinner provided by a local restaurant. After dark, we remember loved ones lost with luminarias lit around the track. We continue to walk overnight to symbolize the day in the life of a cancer patient. Cancer doesn't sleep, so neither do we.
