Meeting Topics
We’ll experiment with meeting topics and an online forum over the next year to see how to best draw in such diverse groups.
For July the topic is "Board Doesn't Have To B a Four Letter Word" Whether your nonprofit is big or small, a start up or a 40 year veteran, we all face the challenge of keeping our board happy, healthy, and "engaged" - the buzzword of the day.
So, whats worked fory ou in terms of board recruitment, training, and engagement? If you are a board member, what have you found to be valuable? And how do you move past the personality conflicts, differences in expectations, and power struggles that have marked every board/ non profit relationship at some point in time?
Come preprared to share your ideas. We'll also sample board job descriptions, recruitment ads, and orientation manuals, and let you know about upcoming training from organizations like United Way and Nonprofit Center.
